Acne is the term used for plugged pores, deeper lumps and pimples that occur on chest, face, neck, shoulders and back. It is usually found in teenagers. However, it is not restricted to teenagers as adults in 40s can also suffer from acne.

There are different types of acne and there a number of ways to cure acne. Balancing hormones is an effective way for curing acne. There are mainly two groups of hormones that are to be balanced in order to cure acne. Androgens are the first type of hormones that are to be balanced for curing acne. Androgens are responsible for regulation of skin oil. Too much skin oil mixed with other elements cause acne. Prostaglandins forms the other group of hormones that are to be balanced and they’re responsible for anti-inflammatory and inflammatory responses in the cells.

So, how to regulate hormones? Usually, people lack the nutrients required for producing ‘good’ prostaglandins. Alpha-linolenic acid is the precursor to ‘good’ prostaglandins and it’s also an Omega 3 essential fatty acid. Animal products and household oils have high amount of Omega 6 efa’s than Omega 3 and Omega 6 is considered as a building block for the ‘bad’ prostaglandins. This is the reason why human beings are usually deficient in Omega 3 efa’s.

Flax seed oil and fish oil are the best sources of Omega 3. Taking enzymes along with these oils ensure that the oils are broken down and utilized properly. Apart from this, you can also take flax seed oil or fish oil capsules along with enzymes rich fruits. Relieving an individual from stress also helps in prompt regulation of hormones. Also, it’s advisable to avoid smoking and other things that produce free radicals as these also affect the proper regulation of hormones.
