Let there be no doubt about it but that the Clarisonic Face Brush is a great product, even if it is a bit over priced. Think about it for a moment. You can now buy a good quality DVD player, which is a far more complex piece of electronics, for less than $100.

The irony is that the adds for this product seem to for the most target women removing makeup. Of course this would be a great market niche but for me, I see a lot more people using it.

What about restaurant workers for instance. It seems to me that anyone who works in this type of environment that can wreak havoc one ones complexion could make good use of a deep cleaner machine like this.

What many people don't realize is that standard hand scrubbing can actually force grime and bacteria down into skin pores. On the other hand, the ultra-sonic cleaning action of the Clarisonic Face Brush actually vibrates dirt and contaminants up and out.

So this would definitely be a great tool for the person with a skin condition who wears makeup. It would allow them to wear their makeup during the day and then completely remove it when they get home, before it has time to clog pores.

I can also see this tool being used to clean anything that's delicate, yet needs a thorough cleaning. Watches, jewelry, delicate electronics and machinery and the list just goes on and on in my mind.

You see the brushes don't spin like in a standard mechanical brush cleaner. Rather, they vibrate at a rate of 300 times per second, so you don't have the “abrasive effects” that you tend to get with a standard spinning scrubber.

The benefits of this product can be seen immediately. You will experience softer, smoother skin after the first use and your face will really look and feel squeaky clean. My pimples don't last as long (sometimes disappear in less than 24 hours which never happened before), and my expensive skin care products are more effective. The real reason for the purchase was a bunch of blackheads on my chin and they are diminishing in quantity. Also they are more brown now than black which I could see after using a Biore strip. Hopefully they will eventually disappear. I recommend this product.

This product is one of the best things I've ever bought for myself... It does exactly what it says: cleans your skin better than you ever thought you could, mildly exfoliates, and just makes your skin look fabulous. I can also tell it is softening my fine lines on my forehead (which are just starting). Once you use a clarisonic, you'll never go back to washing your face the regular way. I really like the Pro better than the one my friend bought awhile ago, b/c I changed it to a two minute timer b/c I have very oily skin, and I also like to be able to customize the speed (high after the gym, normal on a regular day). A FANTASTIC buy... a must for anyone who is looking for a boost to their facial skin. Plus, if you buy the spot attachment, you can use it on rough places like your upper chest, elbows, and knees (it has a special speed built in for body areas).

iS Clinical Active Serum: What’s in the Bottle??

One of the big secrets to understanding almost any product out there, is to look on the label and see what ingredients are listed first. Now this won't tell you everything you need to know but it will at the very least, tell you what you're mostly paying for.

The one listed first is the number #1 substance in the container and at over $100 per once ounce bottle, one of the first ingredients after water in iS Clinical Active Serum is sugar cane extract. That's a fancy way of saying “molasses”.

Not to worry though because further down is listed bilberry extract because it contains lactic acid. Oh, by the way plain sour milk is full of lactic acid.

Then we come another ingredient listed, which is willow bark extract. It turns out that it contains salicylic acid. If you want to know what salicylic acid is, just go to your bathroom medicine chest.

That's because it's plain aspirin. That's right! You read it correctly. Aspirin is salicylic acid. Then we come to the mushroom extract and the menthol. Mushroom and mint juice and there's really no more listed.

Now my problem isn't that this product isn't just molasses, aspirin and mushroom juice at over $100 per ounce. Hey, if you want to buy it, go right ahead but you can get it all much cheaper at your corner grocery store.

My problem with it is that they're marketing it to acne sufferers, who are all too often young people living in anguish. The people who developed this product must truly be some of the most cynical people alive.

Now there are some other harsher substances listed, such as Glyceryl Polyacrylate and Butylene Glycol but they're all basically preservatives or powerful chemically based moisturizers. Things you really don't want on your skin anyway.

It's not cheap, but it does work. I've been using this serum for about a year now and can attest that it keeps my skin clearer and smoother than anything I've ever used, period. I rarely, if ever, have to use any kind of pimple cream now. Good thing is that a little goes a long way and a bottle can last for a couple of months. Use it after a good cleanser and then follow up with a good moisturizer and you'll be set.

Great serum for acneic skin, not only it fights with zits, but also works for better appearance overall. It burns a bit because has a menthol in it, but I spray my face with spring water and use less serum. Work great under sunscreen and make up.

All Natural Homemade Face Scrubs For Blackheads

June 29th, 2008 admin Posted in All Natural No Comments »

Blackheads are one of the more annoying forms of skin problems for teenagers and people of all ages. A lot of the time people who don’t usually get spots still have blackheads. Scientifically known as the open comedo, they form in the pores as excessive oils secrete from them, oxidizing in to a black “plug” on the outside of the skin. They generally form on and around the nose or in the ears. As well as commercial products you can also use homemade face scrub for blackheads.

Homemade face scrub for blackheads can consist of many things and usually the only basis for such remedies are old wives tales or myths. This being said there are some scrubs you can make at home that are proven to work and give you nice glowing skin with no blackheads.

First and foremost before using any scrub is to drink lots of water every day. Water keeps the body and skin hydrated, reducing the clogging up of pores. You can look at it as diluting the oil in your skin.
Below are some homemade methods for clearing blackheads:

  • Although never marketed towards spots, crushing up a Vitamin E tablet and mixing it with water, then applying to your face over night is effective. Adding honey to the area in the morning for 10 minutes may also help.
  • Homemade Face Scrub for BlackheadsSimple plain yoghurt mixed with ground up cucumber is known to reduce oiliness around the affected area, preventing future blackheads.
  • Another oil reducer is ground up avocado and coffee. The coffee invigorates the skin due to the caffeine.

This is just a few examples of homemade face scrub for blackheads. There are literally tones of different combinations of regular household items that can thoroughly clean the skin and prevent spots and blackheads.
