Let there be no doubt about it but that the Clarisonic Face Brush is a great product, even if it is a bit over priced. Think about it for a moment. You can now buy a good quality DVD player, which is a far more complex piece of electronics, for less than $100.

The irony is that the adds for this product seem to for the most target women removing makeup. Of course this would be a great market niche but for me, I see a lot more people using it.

What about restaurant workers for instance. It seems to me that anyone who works in this type of environment that can wreak havoc one ones complexion could make good use of a deep cleaner machine like this.

What many people don't realize is that standard hand scrubbing can actually force grime and bacteria down into skin pores. On the other hand, the ultra-sonic cleaning action of the Clarisonic Face Brush actually vibrates dirt and contaminants up and out.

So this would definitely be a great tool for the person with a skin condition who wears makeup. It would allow them to wear their makeup during the day and then completely remove it when they get home, before it has time to clog pores.

I can also see this tool being used to clean anything that's delicate, yet needs a thorough cleaning. Watches, jewelry, delicate electronics and machinery and the list just goes on and on in my mind.

You see the brushes don't spin like in a standard mechanical brush cleaner. Rather, they vibrate at a rate of 300 times per second, so you don't have the “abrasive effects” that you tend to get with a standard spinning scrubber.

Read More Reviews on the Clarisonic Face Brush

The benefits of this product can be seen immediately. You will experience softer, smoother skin after the first use and your face will really look and feel squeaky clean. My pimples don't last as long (sometimes disappear in less than 24 hours which never happened before), and my expensive skin care products are more effective. The real reason for the purchase was a bunch of blackheads on my chin and they are diminishing in quantity. Also they are more brown now than black which I could see after using a Biore strip. Hopefully they will eventually disappear. I recommend this product.

This product is one of the best things I've ever bought for myself... It does exactly what it says: cleans your skin better than you ever thought you could, mildly exfoliates, and just makes your skin look fabulous. I can also tell it is softening my fine lines on my forehead (which are just starting). Once you use a clarisonic, you'll never go back to washing your face the regular way. I really like the Pro better than the one my friend bought awhile ago, b/c I changed it to a two minute timer b/c I have very oily skin, and I also like to be able to customize the speed (high after the gym, normal on a regular day). A FANTASTIC buy... a must for anyone who is looking for a boost to their facial skin. Plus, if you buy the spot attachment, you can use it on rough places like your upper chest, elbows, and knees (it has a special speed built in for body areas).

Before I discovered the DDF Glycolic range of products I had tried pretty much everything on the market: Proactiv, Neutrogena, Over the counter stuff like clearasil...You name it I've most likely tried it. I've had pretty bad acne since I've been 15 years old and it had always been a constant battle to try to keep my skin clear.

These days acne for me is just a harsh memory. I've been using the DDF Glycolic products for a little over 3 months now. Within the first 4 days I saw some pretty amazing results: the old pimples were drying out and nothing new was showing up. After a full week I knew it was the real deal, I was ecstatic to say the least!

One of the side effects of pregnancy on the bodies systems is an increased level of hormones that in turn, can produce a number of changes on the skin, with acne being one of them. In women who aren't pregnant, there is the option of treating the acne with a number of readily available drugs including Accutane.

However; for women who are in even the very earliest stages of their pregnancy, drugs like Accutane in particular, simply aren't an option. It's important to bear in mind that as it pertains to pregnancy and acne, drugs that are deemed relatively safe can have long term effects on unborn children that still remain unknown.

Common Acne Treatment Drugs

(Accutane) should not even be considered in even the most severe cases of pregnancy and acne. In fact it is recommended that women who feel that they might become pregnant should stop taking this drug one month beforehand. Fact: fully 25-35 percent of pregnancies where Accutane exposure occurs in the first trimester do result in birth defects.

(Retin-A) also carries a warning regarding pregnancy and acne on its label. Although no known birth defects have resulted from its use, the fact remains that an unacceptable level of this drug will pass from the mother to the infant being carried in the womb.

(Tetracyclene) is an antibiotic that is commonly prescribed for acne. Once again this is another drug that should not be taken during pregnancy, as it has been shown to inhibit bone development. Another side effect on children who were exposed to this drug as infants, is a yellowing of the teeth.

Pregnancy and Acne - Safety and Prevention

The risk to unborn children presented by Accutane is so great that doctors who prescribe it to women in their childbearing years commonly recommend that two forms of birth control be used simultaneously. It's just that dangerous to unborn children.

Prior to taking Accutane, all doctors will also require that a pregnancy test be taken at least one week before hand. It's also highly recommended that women who are being considered for Accutane undergo counseling to learn how various birth control methods can fail.

So then whats different about this system because its makers and promoters claim in their literature that it came about as the result of a “special collaboration” between dermatologists and medical researchers. I'll tell you whats different. Absolutely nothing!

It's just another three stage system that relies on benzoil peroxide as its active ingredient. Ah! But there's salicylic acid in there too and it does kill acne causing bacteria, as well as exfoliate. Well guess what?? That's just the chemical name for (common aspirin), which brings me to my biggest gripe.

Four 2oz containers for $70??

That would be their price and container sizes. The kit sells for almost $70 and the containers in the kit are tiny! Of course there's no travel size.. Because if the containers in the kit were made any smaller, you could fit the whole package in a common envelope.

The irony is that Exposed acne treatment doesn't have to be this way. Benzoil peroxide does work and theirs even contains a micronized variety, as do so many others now. It's all marketing gimmickry. Jack up the price and people will think that its something special. Small containers will bring them back for more all the sooner.

Trust me. You can buy this kit if you want because it will in fact work. However; before you do, take a little time to check out others like Proactiv Or Obagi Nu Derm. These are both similar multi stage systems that cost about half as much and they have also been proven to work.

Blackheads can be very unappealing bringing your self-esteem down as you constantly worry about how you look and the condition of your face however, here are tips on how to get rid of blackheads.

1. Exfoliant
By using an exfoliant, you will remove the cells in your skin and “expose” the blackhead. Exfoliant creams contain Alpha Hydroxyl Fruit Acids which clear away your dead skin which then exposes the blackhead. These must be use once every 3-4 days as an excessive use can be damaging to living cells on your face. From this you must place a warm compress on your face for about 10 – 15 minutes which will soften the blackhead. Once you have done so, gently apply pressure on both sides of the blackhead by pushing down onto your face. This is to push the blackhead upwards and out of your face!

2. Lime Juice Lotion
Lime juice contains great substances to heal damaged cells whilst getting rid of blackheads too! By combining equal parts of lime juice, glycerine and almond oil, you will make a killer lotion to clear up your face!

3. Honey
Dab a little bit of honey on the affected area and then wash it off after 10-15 minutes. This will help cure your blackheads.

4. Steam and moisturize
Place a hot towel over your face to ‘steam’ it for around 10 minutes. An alternative to this would be to fill your sink with extremely hot water and put your face above your sink for the same 10 minutes. With this ‘steaming’ method, blackheads come to the surface and all you will have to do is wash your face with warm water and a natural face wash. Moisturize your face after to close back the pores!
